Workplace Diversity in the Attorney-General's Department

Workplace Diversity is about recognising and valuing the different knowledge, skills, backgrounds and perspectives that people bring to their work, regardless of whether those differences are based on age, gender, ethnicity, social background or other factors. Different perspectives that people bring can add to the Department's innovation and creativity, and overall productivity. This is best achieved with employing people from different backgrounds, skills and experiences.

The desired outcome of the Workplace Diversity Program 2008-2010 is to continue to implement diversity principles in the Department which enhance organisational outcomes. The Workplace Diversity Program 2008-2010 builds on the Department's existing commitment to embed the APS Values into its business by aligning its Workplace Diversity aims and strategies with the APS Values Framework and the Department's Reconciliation Action Plan. In doing so, the Department will have a consistent framework against which to model behaviour, ensure clear guidance for all employees and measure success.

All AGD staff are encouraged to provide any feedback and comments on the Workplace Diversity Program 2008-2010 to the Equity and Diversity Adviser.
