This project installs CCTV and smoke detectors at the Parish of St John the Baptist Church in Reid ACT. This crime prevention and safety measure is aimed at keeping the church open on a 24 hour basis.

Anglican Parish of St Mary in the Valley Tuggeranong

Damage Prevention Project

This project installs security window protection to the Worship Centre. This crime prevention measure is aimed at preventing further break-ins, theft and vandalism.

Canberra Islamic Centre Inc

Eyes Around The Clock

The project is to adequately equip the centre with a surveillance system comprising of camera recordings of the activities in the immediate surroundings of the centre building. Vandalism and stealing occurs frequently.

Canberra Police and Citizens Youth Club Inc

R.Y.S.K. Programme

This project would support R.Y.S.K., a Go-Karting programme involving young people aged 12-18 with a history of recidivist motor vehicle theft. The program uses the attraction of Go-Karts to provide deferred gratification from the thrill seeking of stealing cars and an incentive to change criminal habits, with drivers aiming to develop responsibility, discipline, mechanical skills, team work and respect.

Kairos Outside Canberra Monaro Region

Kairos Outside Retreat Weekend

This project aims to provide training to volunteers to run Kairos Outside, a weekend residential program with follow-up support for families of men, women and youth who are or have been in prison.

This project installs a security gate at the premises of the Mandir Society of Australia. This crime prevention measure is aimed at deterring vandalism and break-ins that have occurred frequently at the premises.

Scout Association of Australia (ACT Branch) Wanniassa Scout Group

Scout Hall Security

Wanniassa Scout Hall is a regular target for vandals and this project would assist in preventing further attacks. The application makes for the provision of a security alarm, lights and dead bolts for the main scout hall, a lockable shed to secure canoes and trailer and upgrade fencing to prevent unauthorised access.

Tuggeranong United Junior Football Club

Secure Storage of Equipment

$3,500

This project aims to protect and secure the Club’s property such as football equipment and clothing in light of regular break-ins by thieves and vandals. It also installs a secure container to enable the storage of equipment to deter theft and vandalism. Overall, the club provides a community service by engaging young people (aged 6-18years) in sport, including young people at risk of offending.
